Privacy Policy

This policy explains what GoGifte collects when you use the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and plain — no dark patterns, no surprises.

Information we collect

  • Account information. If you sign up, we store your email address and (optionally) display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and profile name from Google.
  • Preferences and activity. Recipient profiles, budgets, saved/wishlisted items, chat history with the AI assistant, and which products you view or click.
  • Usage data. Basic technical information such as page views, referring URLs, browser type, and approximate location derived from IP. Used to keep the site reliable and improve relevance.
  • Affiliate click events. When you click an outbound merchant link, we record that click for attribution. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

How we use it

  • To personalize gift recommendations.
  • To operate features like wishlists, chat, and saved profiles.
  • To detect abuse and keep the platform safe.
  • To measure which products and pages perform well.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it to train third-party advertising profiles.

Where data is stored

GoGifte uses Supabase as its backend for authentication, database, and storage. Your data is held on Supabase's managed infrastructure and protected by row-level security policies that limit access to your own records. Some requests are processed through Cloudflare for delivery and security.

AI assistant

When you chat with the AI gift assistant, your messages are sent to a model provider to generate a response. We store the conversation so you can return to it later and so we can improve the assistant. Do not share information you wouldn't want stored.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure aggregate usage. You can clear them at any time from your browser settings.

Your choices

  • You can update or delete your profile from account settings.
  • You can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.
  • You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.

Children

GoGifte is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
